Access & Facilities: Yuchi is more than just woods—it’s got some handy extras. The shooting range is perfect for sighting in your rifle before the season, and the boat ramps give you water access if you’re chasing ducks or just want to mix up your hunt. Primitive camping is allowed, too, making it easy to turn a quick hunt into a weekend adventure.

Alexander WMA

Smaller in size but big on variety, Alexander WMA covers just over 1,300 acres. It’s known for its fields and pines, making it a solid choice for deer, turkey, and especially dove when the season opens.

Access & Facilities: You’ll find a dove field here (quota-only hunts), plus parking and kiosks for sign-in. There’s no camping allowed, but Alexander is close enough for quick day hunts. Because it’s compact, you can learn the land fast and zero in on productive spots.

Di-Lane WMA

At more than 8,000 acres, Di-Lane feels huge compared to the other nearby WMAs. It’s managed to support quail and other early successional wildlife, but it’s also a strong choice for deer, turkey, and dove. The mix of timber, fields, and open ground means there’s plenty of space to spread out and find your own corner.

Access & Facilities: Di-Lane offers primitive camping, dove fields, and even restrooms during quota hunts. With its size, it’s a good idea to scout ahead and use maps or GPS—this place can feel like a maze if you’re new to it.

Mead Farm WMA

Mead Farm WMA is the little hidden gem of the group. Just 200 acres, it’s a blend of wetland and upland habitat that makes it unique for bowhunters, small game chasers, and the occasional waterfowl setup.

Access & Facilities: Don’t expect much in the way of amenities—just parking and posted maps. No camping or vehicles are allowed inside, which keeps it quiet. It’s a small spot, but if you like low-key hunts and working edges, Mead Farm is worth a look.
