The Bird Dog Capital of the World

Waynesboro’s local attractions come in all shapes and sizes throughout the year.

Check out the Georgia Field Trials in January and experience the pointers and setters that give Waynesboro its nickname “Birddog Capital of the World.” Maybe a good old-fashioned cooking competition is more your speed. Join us for the Boss Hog Cook-Off in May.

The fall brings the Burke County Fair and the Hat and Spur Ranch Rodeo. Both events are great fun for the whole family. The year wraps up with the joyful Christmas spirit and the Annual Christmas Parade.

Whether you’re looking for great restaurants, shops, or entertainment venues, Augusta has it. You can enjoy a concert from world-class musicians at the James Brown Arena, catch a minor league baseball game at SRP Park, or watch the world’s best golfers tee it up at the Masters.  One of our favorite things to do in Augusta during the summer months is the Augusta Market at the River every Saturday. The opportunities are endless, but at the end of the day, you can still retreat to the peace of the country.
